777-owned Standard Liege forced to postpone game after fans hold protests aimed at U.S. firm

Standard Liege were forced to postpone their game against KVC Westerlo on Friday night due to protests from fans towards their owners.
Liege are owned by the American investment firm 777 Partners, which is also seeking to add Premier League side Everton to its portfolio of clubs — although that prospective takeover looks to be effectively over after it called in restructuring experts in an attempt to save the crisis-hit business.
Earlier this week, Liege were hit with a temporary transfer ban due to what the club said was a failure to provide proof of payments during a routine monthly check.
